Tank Removal
Sunrise Environmental maintains certification with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Our service includes making application for appropriate permits, managing inspections and documentation. Oil Tank removal begins with a careful inspection of the site to determine tank size and remove obstacles. We utilize equipment of an appropriate size for the project. We maintain several excavators for all types of jobs, whether the site is big and deep, or narrowly accessible through trees and landscaping we have the right equipment for your tank removal project. We dig with care to ensure the tank comes out without property damage. Existing connections are sealed and lead pipes are checked. Tanks are opened to check for residual oil which is then safely removed prior to tank removal. Any tank leakage is contained and the tank is loaded on our truck for safe and legal environmentally conscious disposal and / or recycling. Our process complies with all NJ DEP guidelines and regulations. Removed Oil Tanks are never reused.

Environmental Remediation
We are licensed and certified to conduct a full soil remediation where necessary. This process requires excavation, soil sample analysis, removal of oil contaminated soil, and backfilling with clean soil. Soil becomes contaminated when the tank is punctured or rusted through, or in some cases where pipe fittings and connections give way to the elements. Through the excavation process the surrounding soil is visually analyzed and field screened with a photo ionization detector or similar instrumentation for evidence such as oil residue/volatile organics. If suspect, soil samples are sent to a lab for further testing. Contaminated soil is removed and hauled to a waste facility, and clean soil or fill is brought in to bring the hole to grade level.
